H5Nx Clinical Characterisation Protocol

A comprehensive understanding of H5Nx clinical epidemiology is essential to tailor public health responses and design clinical trials to improve supportive care and therapeutics.

The ISARIC-WHO Clinical Characterisation Protocol (CCP) is a standardised approach to rapid, coordinated clinical investigation of any acute infections of public health interest including H5Nx.

ISARIC has partnered with global experts to develop a H5Nx CRF and adapt data collection and analytics tools for H5Nx, enabling research to :

  • Characterise the clinical presentation of cases, including the natural history, progression, and variability of symptoms.
  • Identify risk factors and outcomes associated with the disease
  • Inform better case management strategies, contribute to the design of clinical trials, and guide public health interventions.
