Delphi survey launched by the ISARIC Dengue Core Outcome Set team

Jun 20, 2024

20 July 2024: The Dengue Core Outcome Set (DEN-CORE) team has officially launched the first round of their Delphi survey, focusing on outcomes for hospitalised patients with dengue.

Individuals involved with dengue in any way are invited to participate in the definition of the most critical dengue outcomes by emailing dencore@isaric.org with an expression of interest. The survey is available in 11 languages: English, Bahasa, Hindi, Malay, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Sinhala, Tagalog, Thai, and Vietnamese.

The deadline for the first round of Delphi completion is July 19 2024.

About the project:

A core outcome set provides a minimal list of outcome measures to be reported in all clinical trials in a specific disease area. The Den-core team was formed in 2023 to develop a Core Outcome Set (COS) for use in dengue research with input from patient representatives, health professionals, psychologists, researchers, methodologists, epidemiologists, journal editors, industry, policy makers, and regulators. Their key objectives are:

  • Defining the scope and applicability of Core Outcome Sets for dengue
  • Creating Core Outcome Sets and measurement tools to improve dengue research
  • Achieving consensus on terminology and definitions for measurement instruments related to dengue Core Outcomes
